The World Scout Jamboree is a Scouting jamboree of the World Organization of the Scout Movement, typically attended by several tens of thousands of Scouts from around the world, aged 14 to 17. This happens every 4 years and this time it’s in USA!
The jamboree is a once in a lifetime experience and is something many scouts dream of attending. The opportunity to learn and mix with so many different cultures at the same time is phenomenal!Kyra (12) a member of 3rd Kensington Sea Scouts, Gauteng, is trying to
Kyra (12) a member of 3rd Kensington Sea Scouts, Gauteng, is trying to realise this dream. Her scouting career started at the age of 6 and a half years old when she joined the movement as a scout. Since then she has achieved great things and has been a role model for many others. She was awarded her Leaping Wolf, Which is the top award for cubs. She is currently an Assistant Patrol Leader. She assists in the running of a patrol of scouts by guiding, scouting and training them in valuable life skills.
This is something she has always wanted to do, however, the finances make this tough. I believe that no dream is too big and we can definitely help her in realising her dream!
A deposit needs to be paid by the end of Nov to secure her a place. Any help or donation, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated in helping us do this for her.
