We are a NPO for the serious and extremely debilitating illness ME/CFS. For more info see www.mecfssa.org or on Facebook: The ME CFS Foundation South Africa and have an opportunity of a LIFE TIME to buy a car at an AMAZING price.
The Foundation’s car was STOLEN during 2018 and we are therefore in need of a vehicle to:
a. Take patients to doctors and other health care practitioners.
b. Visit patients to provide them with basic living necessities.
c. Visit patients to counsel them and their caregivers/families.
d. Distribute awareness materials at health care facilities in the West Rand, East Rand, Pretoria,
Johannesburg, Vereeniging, etc. (roughly in a 120 km radius from the Foundation’s office in the
West Rand). Further areas are covered by making use of courier services.
e. Continue training of nurses/physios/other health care practitioners at their facilities in the areas
f. Reaching more patients, etc.
As said, our vehicle was stolen and we have the OPPORTUNITY to buy one at an AMAZING price of R45 000, we already have R10 000.
Why would you want to support us?
Imagine being hit with a disabling illness which destroys your life. An illness which literally takes out your body’s “batteries”, taking away most things we take for granted: working, exercising, socialising, playing with your children, traveling and many other activities. “It feels as if some external control took out my batteries without my permission.” (Words by Willa Truter)
However, this illness does not yet have a cure. This is the disease called Myalgia Encephalomyelitis, also referred to as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS). Millions of people around the world are affected by this disabling illness; resulting in them disappearing from society and becoming part of the The LIVING MISSING.
Reason 2: The ME CFS Foundation South Africa NPO is the ONLY organisation in South Africa representing the ME/CFS community. It aims to address the dire need of those suffering from this debilitating and devastating illness, and to put an end to the misconceptions surrounding the illness. We have only reached the tip of the iceberg in SOUTH AFRICA, but with YOUR HELP WE CAN REACH MANY MORE PATIENTS and really make a big difference in the QUALITY OF LIFE of these patients.
Reason 3: Having a vehicle will help us: addressing patients’ needs; i.e. giving them hope and access to: health care, companionship, financial assistance, medical treatment, special care facilities, basic living necessities as many patients live in poverty.
Thanking you in advance for your support and generosity.
