My husband and I would like to adopt a baby from India. My husband has been in India and has seen hundreds of kids roaming the streets who were abandoned by family or mothers who are the victims of sex trafficking. He was told by an adoption agency that we are required to pay R10 000. The cheapest flight to India is R4290 per person. Sometimes adoptive parents are required to make 1 to 2 trips to India depending on the conditions in which the child lives.
Visits can last up to 3 weeks. My husband has a good job, but the money required for this process cannot be forked out all at once. We don’t have kids together and have been trying for over 8 months. My husband is also of Indian descent. We believe that we are more than capable of taking care of a child and we can provide a loving, healthy and educational environment for a baby.
