R2 800 of R310 000 raised

Adora-Bull Terrier Rescue and Rehabilitation is a non-profit organization (NPO 156653) facilitating the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of bull terrier dogs countrywide. This organisation is headed up by Dania Skone and Claire Louise Horne, who patiently spend each day dedicating their lives to abused, abandoned, and misunderstood breed. They are supported solely by the generous volunteers who give of their time and financial resources as much as they can in order to help this incredible breed in South Africa.

Adora-Bull’s current premises are situated on a farm on the outskirts of Vereeniging on a piece of land which they have gratefully rented for the past 5 years, allowing them to care for more bullies than they had ever imagined possible. These kennels, however, are not pretty or refined and are a testament to the chew and playful character of the dogs they care for. The premises don’t have electricity; and some trips at night are made by women dropping off dogs, building material or donations in absolute darkness. They have no toilet facilities and weeing behind a bush, walking a bullie has become an acquired skill. The rats have destroyed the generator, and Mother Nature’s anger during specific seasons is harsh and scary. Dania and Claire do not stay on the premises and drive in and out daily to walk, feed and love these dogs, people abandoned, abused and ask to rehome due to some unforeseen circumstances.

Adora-Bull has finally found a property where the ladies would be able to stay on with their bullies and staff. The property would be able to hold adoption days, host fundraisers, and have space to walk the dogs comfortably. The new property would be safe and secure with “some” luxuries as toilets and electricity (whoohooo)! The possibilities which come with this new property are endless to help our breed and secure a bigger and better future for the rescue.

Adora-Bull is thus desperately trying to raise funds to secure the property for R300 000 and to pay the total cost of the land which I R1.3 million. The team is overwhelmed by the support already received by the local community, however, as they are an NPO the banks will not provide them with a bond, leaving the team with no option but to try to raise the full R1.3 million to secure a good and safe land to continue rescuing and caring for their bull terriers. Absolutely any donations would be so appreciated and put to such excellent use for these special dogs.
