I am Tharene and I am trying to help my friend raise money for his Yoga Master training in Rishikesh, India. This is the heart of Yoga, where it all started and thus obviously the best place to study one’s Master’s Training.
WHY DOES HE DESERVE HELP?
I am in the fitness industry as well and have worked with many different trainers. Neil is one of the few that blew me away with his teaching methods and skills and the way he treats his clients or members. He has strong views on certain matters but never forces his views on anyone and makes everyone in class or private sessions feel like they are achieving something. Neil lives fitness and yoga and its philosophies. He is passionate about what he does and you can see the complete happiness and fulfilment when he is doing or teaching yoga. It is definitely his happy place. He loves that he can add value to a person’s life and help them if possible.
I believe if we all reach out and help at least one person in our life we can add to some positive changes to the world and obviously that person’s life. I believe this to be even more true in someone like Neil’s case who is one of the most humble, caring person I know. He has had a tough life and yet never complains and has never asked for help. He hates being a burden on anyone and will literally rather go without something than put anyone out. If he did not have a sense of responsibility, he would probably sell everything he owns (which really is not much, as he is a minimalist and really only own bare necessities) in order to do realise this dream.
However, I know that doing this course means everything to him, as it has been a life goal, a life dream from a career, spiritual and personal point of view. It is pretty much like a pilgrimage to him. I would like for just once in his life he feels supported and that his dreams are valid, important and achievable.
I know for a fact that Neil’s salary only just covers his necessary monthly expenses like rent and food. Although he had saved quite a bit towards this dream over the past few years, he lost almost everything due to a “friend” he trusted who messed him around with a wild idea, where he was hoping to add to his savings (instead of losing it all).
THE COURSE:
There is a course May to June and then October to December that he would like to attend. Ideally he would like to attend the May to June course, (as this would also aid him in his career the sooner he attends) if he manages to raise enough funds. So, the sooner the money comes in the sooner he can go. Neil will have to take 2 month’s unpaid leave to do this course. This obviously means that he still has to cover his rent etc regardless of having no income for 2 months.
I will set out what he is needing money for and I would be absolutely thrilled if you all could assist me in raising funds for him for this trip as soon as possible. If we could get the money together by May it would be great, otherwise latest end September. I love helping people, it brings so much inner happiness seeing others happy and reach their dreams and helping a friend who deserves it more than words can express, would be the best feeling ever. I would forever be grateful if people could help me make Neil happy and achieve his dream, his pilgrimage.
