My mum has recently been diagnosed with stage 3 aggressive breast cancer. She has a 4cm tumor in her right breast that has spread to her nearby lymph nodes. She has been through so much in life from taking care of me as a single mum to losing everything such as her house and business to walking to work even in the rainy days and working for minimum wage (and sometimes not even getting paid) to now being diagnosed with cancer.
She is the breadwinner of my family and my only support. She provides for my granny, my uncle, my dad and myself. My dad is unable to work as he had multiple strokes a few years ago and now he’s unable to read, write, talk and just do everyday things.
I’m 22 years old and I’ve recently just finished my BSc in Physics and currently looking for a job to help my mum with her treatments. My mum is the strongest woman I know, she’s fought to be where she is today, and I know this is not where her story ends.
I’m creating this fundraiser to help assist with the payment of treatments that she will hopefully undergo in the next few weeks. The treatment is an insulin based treatment that is only done by a private hospital such as Cancer SA in which they do alternative cancer treatments – all info can be found at: https://www.cancersa.net/iptld-treatment/
It is R31 000 – R35 000 per week to have 4 treatments per week. She has to go for treatment for 8-12 weeks. Please help me give my mum a chance to try the treatment and live a longer, healthier life.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and hopefully help my mum get her treatments done.
