South Africa continues to grapple with a high unemployment rate with youth unemployment at 55%. The situation is untenable and threatens South Africa’s stability. Indeed, with unemployment remaining stubbornly high and government struggling to reduce poverty and inequality, protests and high levels of crime have become common across the country. Recently the SANDF was deployed to the Cape Flats.
While feeding schemes and charities continue to offer assistance to communities, their effect is limited as it creates a dependence on the organisations that support them. It offers a temporary solution to a bigger problem. Entrepreneurial and empowering initiates is required for sustainable growth and development in communities.
We believe in the power of people. Partnerships allow us to expand our reach. You can become a partner on this initiative and make a difference.
The African Development Network is a registered Non-Profit Organisation that actively promotes sustainable organisational and youth development through training programmes.
With over 10 years’ experience in working with social development programmes, we will execute a sustainable programme on the Cape Flats that will include training, mentoring and monitoring. New organisations will be created, existing organisations will receive training and young community leaders will be identified.
We would greatly appreciate your support and generosity.
