A few years ago I felt the Lord calling me for family ministry in South Africa. He stirred this passion in my heart, to help rebuild and restore His people, specifically children, who often don’t have the support at home that they deserve or need. My unique angle is that I work towards inner healing through creativity when I journey with varies children.
So in 2013 I left my career and joined an NGO / NPO in George where we help multiple families and individuals at in this Family Transformation ministry. We run all sorts of Christian lifestyle courses at minimal fees, to make it accessible to everyone. If people can’t pay for the courses, we help them find a sponsor or we sponsor them ourselves. We also offer counselling to the community on a donation base, so if people can’t contribute, we still help them with the same love and care.
Apart from this full-time job, I volunteered at a local teenage neuro clinic. It was really sad to see how many teens in SA struggle with depression, suicide and other mental health problems.
What a rewarding journey it is to stand with a person against depression, suicidal thoughts, PTSD and so much more mental and emotional challenges, guiding them on a path to inner healing.
At this stage, I can only work as a Christian lifestyle mentor, as I only have in-house training and voluntary courses I attended over the past 4 years.
My heart, however, is to be able to gain more knowledge and skills, in order to assist the children even better in their emotional wellbeing in a more professional way. To provide expert care, servicing patients throughout South Africa.
I would like to further my studies in this direction, not for selfish gain, but for the pure passion of seeing people, particularly kids, get healed and live happy hopeful lives in the future.
My challenge is that I don’t have the funds for studies.
