I am Ebrahim Williams an average young South African. I would like to start a Christmas shoebox/ gift project, which I will continue from this year onwards. Unfortunately, I do not have the financial means to do so. I live in a small community with many underprivileged kids who do not have anything to look forward to for Christmas. I would like to either buy a gift or create a shoebox of some sort filled with goodies to surprise each child. Our community after care center provided a similar service, however, they have closed down. I therefore want to assist by providing a gift of joy. I am asking for a donation of R5000 hoping that it would provide a R100 gift per 50 kids (cheap toys).
I have attached an example of a shoebox I will be donating to a lucky child on Christmas day (this was donated to me). I would therefore like to do more. Please note that this may end up not being confined to my community alone, but that gifts may be donated to kids in neighboring communities or even hospital wards. I know it’s very short notice. For that I do apologize. Please assist where possible any donations of toys would also be greatly appreciated. I am not a philanthropist and I don’t have any sort of an organization either. I am just trying to do good. I would like to spread some holiday cheer to those who do not have. Thank you.
