Dear Family and Friends,
We hope that you are all well.
We have some really exciting news!
We have decided to answer God’s call to short term missions in August this year. Our family will be traveling to Ukraine with a small team from Rosebank Union Church to help teach God’s wonderfully good news; and English, at a Summer Camp in Odessa.
How amazing is that!
This will be the very first time that we will be going to help build God’s kingdom in a faraway land. We are very excited and equally nervous but we trust in God’s ultimate plan and we know that all will go well.
Our team is made up of 12 people from South Africa, most of us belong to RUC, most of us have never been on a missions trip before and all of us are really looking forward to making this trip for God’s glory.
Our team leads, at the church, have done the trip already and have given us some really interesting things to look forward to.
The lovely people of Odessa are predominately Catholic. The country is currently experiencing economic difficulties as well as international tensions with neighbouring countries.
Our purpose for this trip is to help the people of Odessa see and feel the wonderful hope that comes with believing in our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ; by spreading the good news of the gospel, to build personal relationships with people and help nurture their love for our Lord Jesus. We are hopefully going to be able to equip them enough to be able to also spread the good news of the gospel on their own. We will also be helping to teach both adults and children how to speak English.
As you can imagine, embarking on this wonderful journey is going to cost money.
We would prayerfully and humbly like to ask you for your support.
We need prayer and financial support.
Please pray for us for:
1. God to provide the means for us to be able to carry out this wonderful mission
2. Family and friends to support us in prayer
3. Family and friends to support us financially
4. The successful planning and preparation of this mission trip
5. The success of carrying out our purpose on this mission trip
6. Each person on the team to gain the support they require to be able to embark on this journey with Christ
7. The people of Ukraine to have open hearts and minds to hear the gospel
8. The people of Ukraine to enjoy learning from our team
9. God to work in the hearts of those we reach
10. God to help the country of Ukraine cope with the political and economic difficulties they face each day
11. God’s hands of love, protection, and blessings over the mission team and the mission
We will be sending out regular updates, from now until August, to keep you all informed of how the support raising and preparations for the mission trip are going.
