My name is Mlungisi Ndlovu and I am from KwaZulu-Natal, Umlazi. I describe myself as compassionate, driven, flexible, hard-working, and self-motivated to reach my goals. I matriculated in 2000 from Mahlabathini Secondary School. My journey started at the University of Zululand where I was studying my Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics and Physics.
The main reason I chose this qualification is because I want to focus on the fundamental concepts in math via studies in mathematical analysis, along with the basic laws of physics through practical lab experiments. I want to work in a variety of areas, including several engineering and scientific fields.
What makes me unique is that I do not give up and I am a hard worker who believes that we all have the potential to be something great if we put effort into it. I believe that you can never stop learning. I would love to get back into academic learning hopefully next year since now I am in the process of looking for donations and a job to settle my fees.
I am proud of myself for constantly pushing myself to be a better person, even if life is not simple, because now I am living with the burden of debt every day. It has drained the essence of life from my day-to-day activities, and it has had an adverse effect on my mental health. This is really tearing me apart to see my graduate photo without my certificate and complete academic record and it took me years to complete my qualification. I am not proud to say that I carry this over my head day and night.
My father passed away and my mother is not working. She is depending on a social grant. Once I’m successful, I will once again fight to help other people to achieve their goals as I would not want anybody to experience the kind of pain and difficulty my mother and I have experienced.
