Life has taken an unexpected and heartbreaking turn for Karabo Sedio and her siblings. Their beloved mother, the family’s sole breadwinner sadly passed away, leaving behind not only the pain of loss but also the heavy burden of funeral expenses the young siblings cannot afford on their own.
Karabo and her siblings are still very young and were fully dependent on their mother’s care, love, and support. With her passing, they are left to face life’s hardest reality far too soon, planning a funeral without the financial means to do so.
We are reaching out to kind hearts for assistance in giving their mother a dignified farewell. Every contribution, no matter how small, will help cover funeral costs, transport, and basic needs during this difficult time.

I, Jaan -Mart van Rensburg, am desperately trying to raise funds for my brother Theo Barkhuizen to purchase an urgently needed insulin pump to protect his new kidney and manage his diabetes.
He has been living with diabetes since he was three years old.
On 24 June 2025 I had the privilege of donating my kidney to my brother, to help him have the best chance at a normal life with his young son and wife after discharge, he will urgently need an insulin pump.
As Theo navigates this new chapter, we’re faced with overwhelming medical expenses. We’re reaching out for support to cover these costs and ensure he receives the best care.
I now need to help my brother further by raising funds for Theo.
Any contribution—large or small —will make a significant difference in his journey to the best recovery.

What initially started as a mild lower back ache, very soon became intensely painful and within a few weeks the unimaginable that anyone would fear the most was revealed.
I was diagnosed with a very aggressive metastatic, prostatic cancer that had moved to my bones and spine, in particular, which could result in me becoming paralyzed and given a relatively short time to live.
Since the treatment, to date, appears to be keeping the cancer stable, I often experience acute pain caused by the spinal (lumbar) tumor, which although not progressing, it places great pressure on my spinal cord and drains me of my energy and causes me to zone out.
Whilst I have Medical Aid, not all treatments and medication are covered under the Medical Scheme’s formularies thus making this journey very tough, emotionally draining and financially challenging for my family and I.
This was further compounded by the fact that on the 02 April 2025 my Medical Aid declined my Chemo Therapy Medication which has placed me in a rather precarious position by further compromising my health and causing me unnecessary anxiety, pain and suffering.
With that in mind, I humbly appeal to you for help in order to supplement treatment costs, medication costs and everything in between.
Please support my cause which will help me to worry less about funds and for me to focus on my health as I strive to beat cancer and get my life back, as best as I can, as I knew it before and my family and I will be eternally grateful to you.
