COMMUNITY LANDSCAPE GARDENING – R200 000
My community, Mitchells Plain, which is on the Cape Flats, has many open fielded areas which are being used as dump spots. I thought it would be a great initiative to transform these areas into beautiful planted areas which the community can use to picnic in or just sit and catch up with friends or family. Many of the community are under privileged or disadvantaged and are not at the means to take on a project like this on their own. I would also like to provide a workshop where I will teach the community the basics of gardening, how to plant and care for their gardens. I know that it will benefit them tremendously and they can apply their new skills to tend to their own gardens or those of their neighbors. I will be needing tools, wheelbarrows, compost and most importantly lots and lots of plants.
This initiative will definitely turn those bare dump sites into beautiful landscaped gardens that’s very pleasant to the eye.
