CREATING JOBS IN OUR COMMUNITY – GOAL $100 000
I live in a very disadvantaged rural settlement. Poverty is rife as there are no jobs for the people here. I want to teach the ladies to sew simple items like COASTERS, POT HOLDERS, HAIR ACCESSORIES, DRAWSTRING BAGS, TOILETRY POUCH and a new product AFRICA ETHNIC BEADED SHOPPING BAGS.
I have started setting up a website and PayPal account for when we move into the international markets. For now it will be local. Besides the bags any member of the community who has a craft like making ethnic beaded jewelry or woven grass basket or woodworking ect can join us to get their products advertised online.
I also want to create a safe have for ex street girls who were prostituting and using drugs. A place they can come to be re introduced into society after years on the streets. After their six monyin rehab they can come sid months at the women’s centre and get their lives back far from the familiar drug dens they were used to.
We need to buy a premises to house ladies and to use for the sewing factory.
We need a strong reliable vehicle that can handle the rough farm roads. To take us to buy stock and to deliver orders to the nearest courier pick up point. For hospital trips and to help the community in many ways.
We will need machinery and equipment Light cheap furnishings and a wifi connection.
Many people will come to the center to use the wifi and get help with basic needs. This place will be a home to many and a place of work too. I want to create a sense of belonging and fitting in. A loving nurturing environment where our kids and grandkids can grow into productive adults , learning from us every day. I want to start a ln education policy for the kis the to at least have a chance for tertiary education. I want hunger and being cold to stop. We must share everything we have and together build sustainable incomes and grow into an export business. I have a friend in the USA who is helping market our products overseas.
I have sat and written a detailed list of everything this struggling rural settlement needs and I came up with the amount we need to raise. I have tried to get a government grant but was told I had to be operating for at least a year before I qualify and in the mean time families are suffering. When I found out about crowdfunding I decided to give it a try.
I am appealing to you all to make a small donation into the lives of these women and their families. A little here a little there and we can reach our goal. In the meantime I will continue making these bags and selling them wherever I can . I have found a suitable property in the right location and I am going to keep praying that hearts a led to pledge into this project. So many lives will be changed  for the better. I have put pics of my Sunday school and the house we went to buy for the project as well as the vehicle.
There are so many little things that are needed that will make the world of difference. Like blankets and warm clothes. A good meal and a warm fire. People in the west take such things for granted but some don’t have this basic essentials. Many kids here go to school barefoot often walking long distances in the cold. Let us empower this small group of people to help themselves. It’s the right thing to do. Bringing hope back into their lives is my goal.
I have created a detailed business plan and would be willing to email a copy to any interested parties.
Thank you for your support and commitment to this project. If any backer wants to know more feel free to get in touch with me. There are just so many different stories here, it’s hard to get them all down.
Just know that you can make a difference. Thank you and your family and organization.
Please share this campaign with as many other people as you can. I know it’s a large amount but I believe we can do it with your help. CHANGING THE WORLD ONE LIFE AT A TIME.
