DIALYSIS TREATMENT – R250 000
Jacinta Claire Ferreira from Germiston, fell ill on Tuesday the 16th January 2024 and was taken to the doctor the following day (17th)were she had some blood tests done. On the 18th of January she received a call from the doctor and was told that she needed to be rushed to hospital as it looked like she had kidney failure. She was taken through to Germiston Hospital (government hospital as she is not on a medical aid). On the 19th she was informed that is was kidney failure and was transferred to Johannesburg General Hospital and after more test was done, it was confirmed that she had complete kidney shutdown.
Unfortunately due to the shortage of dialysis she is unable to get it and the waiting list for that is 18 months. A kidney transplant is possible, but not sure how long she has and if she will make it long enough for the transplant. She needs 3 dialysis sessions per week to prolong her life and hopefully receive a compatible kidney donor. Jacinta is only 20 years old and has not even experienced what life has to offer, at this point she might not be able to make her 21st birthday.
