HELPING HAND FOR MOTHER WITH MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY – GOAL R50 000
Good day, my name is Vickey and I am 32 years old. At the age of 17, I was diagnosed with a rare muscular dystrophy called Hereditary Inclusion Body Myocitus (HIBM). There is no cure or approved treatments for this disease. At this stage of my life, I am really starting to struggle with walking, Lifting my arms and getting myself off the bed ect. I am raising funds so I can try to improve my quality of life with Stem cell Treatment. I did do the first round of stem cell in August 2017. It did show much improvement as I had more strength and more balance.
But my body used up all the stem cells and I had to go for a follow-up treatment, but I do not have the funds to do so. We are barely getting by as it is. I still work, but with great effort, and I fear if I do not better my quality of life with the Stem cell Treatment, I will lose my job due to me not being able to help myself anymore. I need about 2 – 3 treatment a year. Please help me better my quality of life and being the best mother I can be to my 3-year-old girl.
