JUST A GUY TRYING TO GET INTO CHEF SCHOOL – GOAL R50 000
As a child, my family was always pretty financially stable. We moved around a lot because my dad was in the army ETC. My mom was a housewife when we came from England to live in this beautiful country SA. Financially all started to go downhill when my parents got divorced. We all know how messy those can be. When the divorce was over and maintenance was an extreme amount, my dad was doing private security in Afghanistan, but he was laid off by a client who really didn’t,t like being told he couldn’t go to the mall.
He couldn’t afford maintenance and the banks took everything. I am now in matric and about to start my life and I do not have a cent towards my name. I aspire to be a chef one day, but for that, you need money for chef school, equipment ETC. I am trying to save up money by working at an animal farm, but the pay is next to nothing and there is never anything left after I pay for things I need that my parents can’t afford.
