MCGREGOR CHESS EQUIPMENT – GOAL R200 000
McGregor Chess Club is a new club in the town of McGregor situated in the Langeberg Municipality of the Cape Winelands District in Western Cape, South Africa.
Drug Addiction and gangster activities is rife in this town therefore we embarked on the introduction of chess to young learners from age 5 to adults to try and keep people away from criminal activities and focus on something that will benefit them.
Since then, we have 83 active members and in order to stay active we need equipment (boards, pieces, clocks) to practice and host tournaments. We planned on applying for a Small Grant of R500 000 at the National Lottery Commission but unfortunately calls have been closed since April 2022 until April 2023. There’s also uncertainty whether they will fund We are in urgent need of Equipment and Apparel for our children and other players in this town and will appreciate any sponsorship towards making it a reality for them.
