MUSHROOM FARM – GOAL R100 000
I started a small mushroom farm, growing oyster mushrooms, shiitake and medicinal such as Reishi, but due to winters being so cold and dry, I need the proper heating and distribution of moisture.
I am currently working out of my garage but hoping to fix it up a bit to allow the proper growing conditions for a whole year’s production and slowly start expanding. I want to get a proper decontamination room for the inoculation of all spawn bags as well.
With all this, I hope to expand and bring in more people to help with the growing and distribution of all mushrooms through restaurants, markets and word of mouth.
Things I now require are:
- A proper heating system
- Laminar flow hood
- Proper covering
- Humidity distribution
- Shelving and PPE
Through any help I receive, I hope to grow and expand on my mushroom farm, allowing for affordable and tastier mushrooms. As well as take a deeper look into medicinal mushrooms for all their properties they can offer to us.
I wish to open up people’s use for mushrooms, from growing to fruiting to harvest, as well as educate people that there are more than what the store has to offer you.
