ONCE IN A LIFETIME OPPORTUNITY – GOAL R15 000
My son, Joshua Caleb, was diagnosed with Leanord Gastaut Syndrome in November last year. It is a dangerous epileptic syndrome. The body gets used to the medication, and what worked this year, will not work next year. Stem cell treatment is able to restore the damaged part of the brain that causes epileptic seizures.
He will receive his treatment on the 2nd of June 2023. The treatment is covered, but we need help with the treatment afterward. He must be outside his normal circumstances and environment for the next 15 days after the stem cell transplant.
The reason for it is for him to be in a trauma-free environment. Otherwise, the stem cells will only strengthen the strong part of the brain, and not go to the weak part. It is recommended by the Professor that is part of the transplant, that we take him to the coast where he can put his feet in the sand on the beach. We also feel it is a very relaxing environment for him to recover. He must also receive Occupational Therapy every day for those 15 days.
This is where we need your help! We do not have the financial capacity to do it ourselves. Any contribution will be much appreciated! This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Joshua Caleb to have a better life! As a parent, it is hard to see your children go through any difficulties or bad things. He is turning 9 soon, and 7 out of these 9 years he suffered from seizures. The last episode last year was nerve-wracking. We did not know if he was going to survive. By God’s grace and faithfulness, he made it through.
We will do anything to give him a better life! Thank you in advance for any contribution to him having a better, healthier life!! God bless!!
