PLEASE HELP ME BUILD MY GRAN A HOME – GOAL R50 000
My name Is Belinda. I am 29 years old. I was born in Johannesburg and recently relocated to Cape Town. My fondest memories are when my late mom and I went to go and visit her Mother when I was I was 6 years old. I was super excited to be going on this adventure. We traveled for a really long time until we reached the Zimbabwean border. It took us another 6 hours to reach my Granny’s home. All I saw were lots of trees and households that were far apart in the village. Each household had a few huts inside. We got off the bus and walked to my Gran’s house. She was so tiny yet very strong (I later realised she could carry a 20litre bucket of water on her head).
We headed to the pitch where there were a big fire and a kettle from which we made some tea. I realised there was no electricity and running water or a toilet. Needless to say, it was quite interesting doing my business in the bushes with leaves and twigs as toilet paper. After a week we left and on the way home at the tender age of 6, I remember promising myself that I would build my Gran a house with a shiny veranda where she could sit and drink her tea while watching her cattle graze. Please help me in making that dream a reality. Thank you.
