TEACH ART IN KENYA – GOAL R8000
In October 2017 I spent a month in Nairobi teaching young mothers between the ages 14-21 photography. The workshops were held in the second largest slums in Nairobi called Mukuru. They were each given disposable cameras and went about photographing their daily lives. The work accumulated into an exhibition at the GoDown Arts Centre.
I am planning my second trip and would like to get funding to help pay for my flights and visas as well as disposable cameras for the young women I plan to work with. I plan to go for a month between Feb and March 2018.
This is all on a volunteer basis and I will not be profiting from my services. It will all be for the greater good of the young people I plan to work with.
