UNABLE TO GET A LOAN TO PAYOFF MY DEBTS – GOAL R60 000
I’m a foreigner living and working in South Africa for the past 9 years. In the Year 2016, I and my co-workers were unfairly dismissed because the company we worked for couldn’t help us out with a work permit. I still had savings and the company paid out my leave days. I was jobless for 8 months, but in those 8 months we took the company to court (we won the case) and I also took Department of Home Affairs to court (I won the case, I got my work permit).
The company also hired me back on the 1st of December 2016. Whilst I was unemployed, I accumulated some debt. Since working I have paid off most my debt except my credit card and my immigration lawyer. I have been trying to get a loan to pay for this and find a part-time job, but I have been unsuccessful. My loan applications keep on being rejected because I’m a foreigner. The banks say I am a high risk.
I left my country because there was nothing there for me anymore. I decided to start a new life here for me in South Africa. It’s a nice country to grow old but has a few challenges for a foreigner. I will keep on praying and looking for options to pay off my debts the legal and correct way.
Many Thanks
