WALK FOR HOPE – GOAL R 100 000
Nuwe Lewe Familiekerk (New Life Family Church) is a Congregation situated in Brackenfell, Cape Town, that regularly reaches out to the community and its people.
We really care and strive to positively impact the lives of people. This year we are having a fundraising initiative for 3 Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO’s) in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town: namely Shiloh Synergy in Brackenfell, Rock a Bye Baby Safe House in Kuilsrivier and Bright Stars Safe Home in Kraaifontein.
All three these organisations do amazing work to change the bad circumstances children find themselves in. From nurturing new born babies of unwanted pregnancies, to children removed out of negative family circumstances where these children are affected by alcohol and drug abuse to children of less privileged communities that are taught the necessary life skills, preparing them not only for life, but making them ready for school as well.
Being actively present in our community is something that is close to our heart. Walk for Hope is a fundraising project from 14 to 30 April 2018. This constitutes a walk of approximately 300km that starts in Stellenbosch and ends in Agulhas. Five people will be walking the full distance over 17 days, and some individuals will join in over weekends.
We are calling on the community to please support this initiative by sponsoring us per kilometre that we will be walking or give a donation. Any amount will make a difference. We commit to giving daily feedback on our progress as we walk, as well as funds raised for these organisations. We want to carry this message of Hope to a community that is experiencing so much hurt and heartache daily. They must know that there is always Hope. This message of Hope goes out to every person dedicated to making a difference at these organisations, committed to giving time and love and investing into these children’s lives. The message of Hope will also be shared with the people we will meet while on the Walk.
We trust that the community will take our hands in this initiative to really make a positive impact in the lives of these children, because children are the leaders of the future.
