Eagle’s Nest was founded in 2006 by Dave and Celia Goddard and has grown from their calling to impact education in disadvantaged areas in South Africa. The school is located in the Wallacedene informal settlement on the outskirts of Cape Town, South Africa.
Our vision is to uplift these communities by providing the children with an education of excellence, irrespective of their social, financial, cultural or religious background.
Most of our children are from very poor homes and arrive at school with empty stomachs and a lack of the most basic necessities. We have been blessed to see the change in our children through our schooling principles and quality care.
We rely primarily on donations and sponsorship for the running of the school. We also receive a subsidy from the Western Cape Education Department.
Since the establishment of our school in 2006, we have grown from 30 to over 450 learners and our work has grown far beyond our resources.
We desperately need to build 3 new classrooms, the cost of which total R 900 000. As things stand we are bursting at the seams in terms of class sizes and teachers have to share classroom space. These new classrooms would mean the world to us and our learners and are vital to ensure their continued quality education.
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
