FUND MY MBA – GOAL R 55 000
My name is Luyanda Nhassengo, a female in the exciting industry of engineering. Academically, I pursued engineering as my foundation, with a degree in Chemical Engineering.
I am currently completing my Masters in Business Administration (MBA) through Milpark Business School. I was also nominated into the Group Chief Executive’s Nurturing Program where we are also doing a Senior Leadership Development Program through WITS Business School. The MBA has been to further enhance my leadership skills and to also further enhance my knowledge in business strategies and processes for continued good performance, both operationally and financially.
When I started the MBA, I was fortunate enough to be awarded a bursary by my then company to study towards it. Due to my partner being in another province, my son in another province and I working in another province we decided that we all move to central province so we can all be together and an opportunity arose to move to a State Owned Entity. When I moved, I had to repay my previous company all the money they had funded me which was a huge financial blow for me and our family. The State Owned Entity also didn’t cover the costs and they also did not offer me a bursary. I had to sit a year and a half trying to raise funds to complete outstanding modules. I am now left with one semester, however still owe tuition for the current semester. The timeframe to complete my MBA is 2020.
My partner tragically passed away on the 19th November 2018, after I had written my last exam on the 12th of November 2018. I passed the modules for that semester, thanks to his loving support in running our household, taking care of our 2 kids whilst running his own land surveying company however not only has it been a major emotional blow but it has also been a financial blow. I now shoulder the cost of our home, educating both our kids and all the living expenses that we shared. Each month there is nothing left to spare for anything else.
My dream of doing the MBA has been and remains that I can live my passion of developing those who come after me and opening up possibilities for them in their own careers and also to ultimately give back in growing our economy through skilling labour and also realizing my entrepreneurial dream in the engineering field.
Your donation would assist me in not only just funding my MBA but finally realizing my dream for my children, for my late partner and our families and to give a small part of myself in RSA’s economic growth.
Thanking you in advance for your generosity and support.
