I use to work at Gijima (the second largest IT company in SA). I started working there May 2008. I got retrenched 10 Dec 2014. I use to own/run a Rescue Centre for dogs called Perfection Rescues. I gave up my last rescues in April 2015, when I was no longer financially capable of running my centre anymore, as it was mostly funded out of my own pocket. Then slowly but surely my whole life fell apart, had to sell/ pawn everything of value to stay alive. Including both my cars. We lived in a Wendy house without running water or electricity just outside Hartbeespoort for a year and a half. Living off pig food… This is not a lie, its the God honest truth. Then moved back to JHB in March this year, just before giving birth to my twins. I started working again on the 16th of October 2017, it is not the greatest of jobs, but it is better than having NOTHING. I use to earn not less than R21000 a month.
I had a wonderful life, and in a blink of an eye, I had no income. It was not easy, but it has made me stronger and more grateful for what I have. And you know the funny thing is, when I had this wonderful life, job, I had a lot of friends and I helped a lot of people and animals. Now that I have nothing, I have no one, and I have asked for help from even those that I helped, and all they can do is judge, insult and look down on me. Even my own family. I am the youngest of 5 kids, and I am the only one that looks after my mom. She stays with me. My brothers and sister all have some type of income, if not their own business, but would not even call my mom on mothers day or her birthday. So that is my life. I determined to get back on my feet again, unfortunately, it is taking a bit of time, but I will rise again… Hopefully better than before.
