GETTING KIDS OFF THE STREETS – GOAL R10 000
My name is Nontle Shangase, from Strand, in the Western Cape province, and a civil engineering student at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology.
Seeing youngsters having no good activities that they involved with, might lead them in doing the wrong things, which will cause harm and danger to them, and increases the risk for them to end up in jail or even worse, get them killed.
I have come up with an idea that will help them get off the streets. Something that will positively influence their lives and that will help with building up their self-worth. It is something that will teach them to work as a team and keep them busy. It will also impact the community, by teaching them to give back to those around them. This campaign will help me set up a variety of cultural activities. I realised that financially I will not be able to do this on my own.
I will need a venue for all the activities to take place, clothes for uniforms, and food for all who participates, to keep up their energy for all the activities. I would really feel very honoured if I reach my goal so that I can help our youth to be a positive influence in their community.
Your contributions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanking you in advance for your support.
