We have a brilliant 3-year-old, who was born with Glaucoma, which means his corneas are cloudy. We’ve been in and out of hospitals since he was born, trying to find the best eye care possible so that he could fully know what it means to have full clear vision. I got to hold him for a full 2 minutes after he was born and then he was rushed to NICU. I only got to see him a few hours later, and my husband and I were not even allowed to hold him, let alone touch him. Not only was he born with Glaucoma, but he had a hole in his lung as well. He is such an intelligent boy, who simply steals everyone’s heart the moment you meet him. To us, he is perfect the way he is, but we would never be able to live with ourselves if we didn’t try to get him the best possible eye care there is.
His intelligence amazes us daily and his love for music is beyond incredible. He loves Bruno Mars. (Versace on the floor is on repeat daily as well as any Hillsong) 🙂 We have two other sons. One is 12 and the other is 8 months, and both of them adore Riley. All our family and friends have been amazing in accepting Riley the way he is, which we appreciate immensely.
This funding would help us get Riley the care he deserves. Medical Care we can’t necessarily afford on our own. We have done some research and came across Boston Children’s Hospital who has a Glaucoma program. We need all the help and exposure possible to make this a reality.
