HELP A BOY WITH A SERVICE DOG

R0 of R50 000 raised

My son was recently diagnosed with autistic features. He has meltdowns that cannot be controlled, sometimes gets aggressive and tense and struggles to socialize. We were advised by his Neurologist that a service dog would be of great help to him.

A labrador puppy was donated to us as a service dog for my son. However, we were told that to train her to help our son would cost an estimated R50 000 which is a lot of money. We want to help boy but it’s going to cost us money that we just don’t have. Crowdfunding would really help our little boy to get his support dog to help with his current mental state. Please help, even if your donation is small, this still adds up. This will help us to put her through her entire training, from puppy school to the point where she is certified as a service dog. Which is a process that takes up to a year to allow my boy to be her handler.

Currently, my boy struggles to cope with any strange situations, with new people, with socializing, with adapting to even his home surroundings.

The purpose is to have a dog that can calm him down, the help him concentrate on her and for her to just be a safe zone for him to function in a more normal way.

It would make a major difference to his daily life and for many years to come.

Again, with your help, my boy can live a more normal life.

Thank you for taking the time to read our story.
