We had a very bad storm last night (Thursday, 17 January) here in Pretoria East, and it blew my chicken rearing house about 50 – 60 m away and dropped it on its side. It is 15m long and has extensive damage. It is very heavy, and we will need to hire people and equipment to put it upright, before being able to start repairs and/or replacement. I am not employed and use the house (corrugated iron shack) to grow meat chickens and sell them to the community.
I really need to get it up and running as soon as possible, as I need the money for my daughter’s speech therapy that the school recommended, as well as keeping her back a year because she isn’t school ready. My husband is already stretched with our rent-to-buy little plot and our Corsa Lite, which is falling apart.
We do most of the work ourselves, we just finished putting up the chicken house last week.
This disaster, along with the bad news about our daughter and our house needing a lot of repairs (we have no doors inside the house and no washbasin in the bathroom) is really taking a toll on my husband. I would like to ask anybody who would like to help us out, to donate a few Rands.
Your contributions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time reading this and your support.
