Our Dad, Hilton, is a bubbly person who loves to joke and live life. On Thursday 25th January he had 2 strokes. We rushed him to a government hospital here in Johannesburg, as he, unfortunately, does not have medical aid. We stayed there till 4 am with him where he was finally admitted to do further tests and keep his blood pressure and everything under control and where he would be observed.
We learned that he was paralyzed on his left side. Hilton was discharged from the hospital on Saturday as they were concerned that he would pick up further infections from the other patients. It has been a struggle at home as he demands 24/7 attention to move, go to the toilet, eat, etc. We are in the process of taking him to a care facility, where he will have support 24/7 with Physio twice a week.
He had his first Physio appointment today and it was a great success with the hope that he may regain full functioning in his left side. We would greatly appreciate any support towards his costs. Every bit of support will go a long way in helping our Dad make a full recovery and to be able to return back to work.
