HILLCREST HOSPITAL FAMILY DAY – R10 000
We are currently doing our clinical fieldwork at Hillcrest Chronic Hospital, which is a government run facility. This facility accommodates patients for acute treatment and long-term nursing with various diagnoses such as: spinal cord injuries, strokes, amputations, and traumatic brain injuries. Hillcrest Hospital currently has 100 patients utilizing five wards which are separated according to patients’ level of functioning. Due to some patient’s diagnoses, finances, and home environments, they are not able to go home to visit family members for long periods of time.
We are looking for sponsors to help fund the annual patient-family day that will be held at Hillcrest Hospital. During family day patients get the opportunity to spend time with their family and provides time for the staff to educate family members on various diagnosis and treatment. There will be food and fun activities available for them to participate in, such as: face painting for the children, arts and crafts and family games. Previously family day had to be postponed due to Covid-19, preventing most patients from socializing with their loved ones. Given the number of patients the resources available are limited. Last year (July 2022) the facility was able to host their first annual family day since the pandemic. In an attempt to sustain the success of this initiative we request any support from your organization/ company.
We would like you to consider sponsoring this event financially to help us reach our goal of R10 000. It would go towards helping make this day a success and it would mean an immense amount to the patients and their families. This year’s annual family day is planned to be held on the 08 July 2023.
