Growing up, it was always about the ocean. Marine life and surfboards all over my walls.

My folks wanted me to be a high flying graphic designer, as I am very creative but, I wanted to do sports management. It was not allowed due to the belief there is no money in sports and you cannot do it until you are old.

At 19, I settled out of ignorance with being in the graphics industry almost half of my life (I’m 40 now) but thanks to qualifying as a Swim Instructor last year, I’m a fit 40! The swimming was cheaper to do than the diving and I can impact lives teaching people to swim.

Many people run swim & dive schools so the hope is the two will merge soon.

At 22, in my first graphics job I was lucky enough to win a trip buying my first car flipping through a magazine, which said fill in your details you can win a scuba trip all expenses paid to Mozambique!!

Long story short, I won it all expenses paid for 4 days, 100 divers, sting rays, turtles, moray eels, parrot and angel fish. I was hooked on diving.

I came home and announced to folks this is it! This is what I need to do the rest of my life. It was what I should have studied.

Of course, the answer was no. They had paid for my graphics career but I was desperately unhappy.
The weight had piled on and I had several attempts to break out of graphics, but all not enough money to live on: Au Pair, Veterinary receptionist, waitress & hostess, Tennis coach, Administration jobs the works! (Because deep down I knew the diving was expensive and believed I would never get into it).

It was me wanting to do marine conservation along with showing people how beautiful it is under the ocean. I’m such a people lover when they get chatting about their lives I love to motivate and inspire.

I don’t belong in Johannesburg. I was born for the islands!

There are so many dolphins out there waiting for me to show all the new divers, seahorses to be saved along with perhaps some city slickers who are also unhappy and need a new lease on life … I need my Dive masters so bad so I can go dive and impact lives and the ocean perhaps Mozambique where it all started … or Sodwana … or the Caribbean/Cayman islands … wherever God decides to take me.

So, I’m needing to qualify as open water again as it has been so long since I’ve dived,
then my Dive masters and finally to secure my first Job and the rest will be history.

It has not been easy and living on a prayer.

I believe in miracles. I prayed to God asked Him but you know I’m not suppose to live behind a desk, I need to make a difference to people’s lives and the environment through Diving & Marine Conservation!!!

That’s my story, so much else not told but hoping many will fund this cause as its Destiny and a passion I will die trying for.

Please help me to fulfil my dreams by donating so that I can do my course and live the life that I have always wanted to.

Thank you in advance.
