IF NATHAN CAN DO, IT SO CAN I – GOAL R100 000
Two years ago our grandson Nathan was diagnosed with a brain tumour. The surgical removal was highly successful and then he was blessed by being accepted at St Judes in Memphis where the malignant cancer was successfully treated. At the time of his cancer diagnosis I undertook at the age of 69 to raise funds by becoming a cyclist and riding the 94.7 km Telkom challenge. Many friends joined in sponsoring me and we were able to raise a considerable amount. Our prayers for his recovery were answered and in May 2018 we joined his parents in celebrating his joyous birthday in Singapore. Shortly after that he contracted encephalitis and had a stroke. Currently he is in therapy in the UK but shortly his parents will return with him Singapore where they need specialized equipment costing in excess of Singapore $10000 to assist them in providing the necessary therapy. I have committed at the age of 70 to ride four cycle races this year which I hope via your sponsorship will bring in some additional funds towards the equipment required. These cycle races will be 110 km Cape Argus, the 100 km Germiston challenge, the Amashova in Natal 116 km and the 2019 Telkom94.7 in November.
