I am a Springbok Scout, being one of less than 1% of Scouts in South Africa to achieve National Colours. (Equivalent of an Eagle or Queen’s Scout) I have been selected to serve at the international scouting centre, Gilwell, in London. Scouting has given me so much in growth and personal development and I would love to be able to give back the skills, knowledge, and leadership to the youth from around the world who will be attending the camps.
I will be serving at the Scout Adventure Centre for 8 months and will be able to grow and learn even more. Being an absolutely crazy, fanatic, history nut, I am also excited about my dream of being in the UK for the Centenary Celebrations of 100 yrs since the end of World War One. I have dreamed and hoped for the last five years of being there for this historic event on 11 November 2018, 11:11 am. My dream is also to spend this last special adventure with my Dad who shares a love for history, visiting historical sites with my him, before I study and I leave the home!
However, traveling overseas isn’t cheap and any help to make this a reality would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for sharing the dream…
