My mother passed away two months ago due to liver cancer. She had no life insurance and her medical bills all but wiped me out. Every credit card and overdraft I have is maxed out. I am attempting to have her house transferred to me as well as her car which was her wish. I am not able to get any loan and if I could I would not be able to repay it. I had to buy my partner’s house two years ago when the landlord unexpectedly sold it. This puts a severe strain on my finances. I did not expect my mother to die. I just wish for one break in life to get back on my feet and retain my inheritance.
I work two shifts 7 days a week to keep head above water and cannot find another job in my spare time as nobody wants to employ somebody for a few hours between 11 and 15:00. I have been looking for more than a year. I, in turn, will help somebody through this platform as soon as I am in a position to do so as I now know what it feels like when you have nowhere to turn to. Her estate and few accounts will amount to R40 000. I do not have the final figures yet. Will be less than that.
