Lessons in Conservation are a non-profit organisation, that aims to educate children in the local communities around Pretoria, on the importance of conservation. This is done by 6 interactive lessons with the children from the Siyanqoba Feeding Foundation, followed by a trip into a big 5 game reserve so that the children will hopefully create a connection to the natural world.
The hope is that this knowledge gained will then be taken back to their communities and spread through family and friend networks. There are three avenues into which our funds are allocated. The first R2000 we put straight towards feeding the children. The next R10 000 we will put towards paying for more children to go on game drives. Finally, any money raised over and above this will go towards our long-term project: construction of a conservation classroom at a local secondary school, which will serve as our base. The hope is to fill this classroom with conservation-related reading material and games, so that children may get the key from the teacher in charge, and read up in their own time when no lessons are taking place if they so wish.
Your contributions towards making this possible would be greatly appreciated.
Thanking you I advance for your support.
