My baby Max was knocked over by a car on Friday not far from where we live. We live in a complex and he often visits neighbours. I only got concerned this morning when he never came home for breakfast as he has never stayed away for two nights.
This morning I found out what had happened via Facebook and that he had been taken to a vet just after it happened who then with the help of a network of angels transferred him to another vet yesterday.
The second vet did not hesitate to operate even though she did not know if the owners would be found.
Max had a broken jaw and damage to his eye as one point they thought he may lose his eye. The vet operated yesterday to fix the jaw as it was broken in two places, the swelling on the eye has subsided so hopefully it can be saved.
I only found this all out this morning and went to the vet to see him and meet his guardian angels.
There is a long road ahead, right now he needs to start eating, once he does he can come home to us and his sister who is missing him terribly. We will do whatever’s necessary to nurse him back to health, he is a fighter he has already proved that.
He was very happy to see me today and rushed into my arms, it was so difficult leaving him at the vet but for now it’s the best place for him.
Right now, I am praying that he starts eating and makes a full recovery, the only other worry are the vet bills. I can’t put a price on his life and will do whatever I can to help his recovery but I am a single Mom that works 3 jobs just to scrape through each month and every month is a battle.
