My husband, 2 kids and I, lived in Vanrhynsdorp, Western Cape. 2 Months ago, my husband was re-enlisted in the South African police force, but they placed him in Khayelitsha, Cape Town. On 15 December, I quit my job as an executive chef. We went to Cape Town to look after my husband’s brother’s house. We had a deadline to find a place to stay. We couldn’t get a place to stay, because everything is much more expensive in Cape Town, two times or 3 times deposit.
My husband brought my kids and me back to Vanrhynsdorp because we still had a house. 2 months ago we had to be out of our rental property at the end of January. I asked our agent, to use my deposit to stay another month so that my kids and I could have a roof over our heads. We went through terrible tough times. I starved myself at stages that my kids could eat. I ended up in hospital. I did not give up though.
My husband and I can’t find anyone to help us. We have tried everywhere. I want to find a job as soon as possible. We don’t expect anything for free. Please pray for us. If we can only find the funds to get a cheap house to rent.
Please help us to be reunited as a family again, and get off the streets.
