We have 3 Daughters (aged 8, 13 and 17) that has been partaking in Drum Majorettes for the last 3 years.
Bernice (17) and Bernadette (13), reached their ultimate goal last year by becoming leaders of their individual teams. Bernice had a major setback last year when she was diagnosed with Meningitis a month before Nationals and had to be in the hospital. She did attend the Nationals, but she was extremely weak and did not manage to be placed in the top 5 Leaders in SA, in the Senior Elite Category.
Bernadette managed to be placed in the top 3 as Leader in the Primary School Elite Group, in South Africa. Veronique (8) is just starting out, with this being her second year, and she is looking up to her sisters and would like to be just like them.
This year they are starting back at the bottom and would like to work their way back up, in order to become leaders again.
Due to financial constraints, it looks as if they will not be able to be part of the team that will be going to the Nationals, which is heartbreaking for them.
This year the Nationals are being held in Oudtshoorn, Western Cape. (http://samcanationals2018.co.za/)
It is the duty of each girl to raise their own funds in order to attend the Competition.
Cost of Attendance per child is R7000.00 which includes the following:
• Transport to and from JHB – Oudtshoorn
• Transport to and from Accommodation to Stadium
• Accommodation
• 3x Meals per day
The cost does not include any spending money; this would be again for the parents/child’s account.
Any assistance you could provide us with would be greatly appreciated.
We thank you in advance.
