R0 of R30 000 raised
As animal lovers, we have been dubbed the local SPCA. Any animal that nobody else wanted, landed up in our house. We also rescued cats out of the bush, sterilised them and gave them a home. They are as much a part of our family as the human “animals” are. We currently have 10 cats and 3 dogs.
Buttons is only five years old. She has a spinal injury and the operation to correct this will cost about R30 000. As a single, self-employed parent who already works 16 hour days, 7 days a week, I simply cannot raise this amount of money on my own. The vet will not allow us to pay it off – it’s “pay up front or murder your cat” situation.
