Women participating in motocross have been an absolute struggle for years in South Africa, never receiving the numbers on the start line. There are always your top 4 girls and then a rider or two might join here or there per race.
To give this sport a new boost and encourage more girls to get on the Ladies Start line, something needs to be done to assist those ladies who financially cannot afford to partake in the event. If we can raise an R100k, this should take care of entries, national licenses, transport and accommodation, where needed, for 5-6 riders. If there are additional funds/sponsors, the initiative could assist the girls to go to the Motocross of African Nations championship. If by the end of 2018, there are funds left, this will be carried over into the following motocross season.
SAWMX will publish all current year sponsors with links to their various companies or brands they would like as representatives to the fund through a SAWMX Website and Facebook Page.
All sponsored riders through this fund will be responsible for wearing shirts that have the sponsored logos on (Iron-on Vinyl Logos to be provided by me), and place sponsored logos, stickers on both sides of their bikes (stickers supplied by myself), and publish race reports after every national on social media, tagging all the sponsors of the fund. They also encourage and increase awareness for the woman in motocross.
