During 2022 we have had some surprising hardships, first one came in the form of a bee sting, and we realized with a shock that my eldest daughter is extremely allergic to bees, she now must carry an EpiPen. Then her little sister broke her leg at school, leaving her in a cast for 9 weeks. All of this happened at a time when our medical aid was already depleted. As a knock-on effect of the medical bills, we fell behind in school fees. And I do not foresee any relief. We have already received so much assistance during this time and we feel so blessed and loved. But being a single income household, we have no way to recover the shortfall and have now resorted to these platforms for much needed assistance. My wife lost her job during Covid, continuously searching for a new job, but we all know it is a struggle to find a job. One blessing in all of this is that my wife can spend some quality time with the kids until something comes her way. As parents we always want to give them the best and falling behind in the fees is not the thing to do. We also try and keep the household running without any of these stresses showing. Our two girls are very eager to learn and grow. The youngest in Gr 1 now and with her eyesight not so good and something we only realized beginning of 2021, she has taken the new challenge in her stride and is excelling in her work, her teacher giving only praise. This is also part of our medical aid struggle, ss she has had to go back to the specialist to assess her eyesight and see if it was deteriorating or improving. And we are glad to say that it has improved a bit, her next visit now only in 2022. Her sister in Gr 4 was in the top 10 of her grades for the first quarter of 2022, unfortunately slipping out the second quarter, but she is still an A student in all her subjects. So to see the willingness in them only makes the situation so much worse as a parent, it feels as if we are failing our kids. Both have a love for dancing and we try and encourage them. The funds received will be paid directly to the school to try and close the gap and should we be in a position where we receive additional funds, we will pay it forward and assist other families struggling or who has fallen behind. We strongly believe in the concept of paying it forward and we try and teach our kids the same. So in closing. It pains me to as parent to stand with outstretched hands begging for help, but for my girls I will swallow my pride and ask for help. I thank you in advance for your contribution and I pray that you will be blessed in return. We have been trying all kinds of plans to catch up, my wife started an online retail store, but that is not a get rich quick scheme and it does help the finances, but not yet where we can cover the shortfall.
NB: Kindly note, donations are non-refundable, thank you.
