18twenty8® is an award-winning, women-led non-profit organisation that is committed to providing training and skills for high school girls to tackle the risk of gender-based violence (GBV).
The 18twenty8® Boys and Men (BAM) Forum equips high school boys to counter GBV.
StepUp is the awareness and fundraising campaign for the 18twenty8® BAM Forum and is led by Aidan Morris – an outdoor enthusiast and Candidate Attorney based in Cape Town.
“We are calling on men across South Africa to StepUp and be role models for high school boys for the sake of girls.”
Through a two-week hike from 12 July to 26 July, Aidan aims to raise R55,000 – only 10c per step – for each of 550,000 steps that he will take from Cape Town to Plettenberg Bay. The funds will be used to supply toolkits and practical support for 300 high school boys.
