What a beautiful day to help change the life of a cat, don’t you think?
Cats in South Africa aren’t being seen. When you go to the SPCA, you walk right to the dogs, you play with the dogs, you walk the dogs, and you donate food … to the dogs. Hardly anyone gives love, affection, time and even a donation towards the cats.
Some people adopt cats because they look adorable as babies, but soon realize that the cat doesn’t fit their lifestyle, or they move, or they don’t like the hair, so they send the fur babies to a shelter, or euthanize them.
Some people see cats as pets, until they don’t want the pet anymore, and merely the cats are then seen as wild animals, and expected to live and survive as if they truly are, because they get left behind.
My partner and I find this extremely heartbreaking and decided to open up a café, to save these fur babies that need us. The income that the café makes will go towards the cats and their health. The more we make the bigger we can go, meaning we can save more and more cats. The long-term goal will be to have a full rehabilitation center for our fur babies, a perfect haven, and a second chance at life. We’d also love to expand to a variety of areas and even countries over time. The more the merrier.
This cat Haven will be built specifically for the cats, open, fresh air, and miles of free space, rehabilitation, and of course all the love in the world. This area will be where cats can be played with, fed, and shown what true love truly feels like.
We need to rent land, build an enclosed but open-air haven, and get the place up and running. We are also reaching out to major companies such as Hills and Whiskas in regards to sponsorships. Once it is perfect, we will welcome our first group of survivors to the haven.
The faster we start this adventure, the more cats we get to save.
