The President’s Keepers author Jacques Pauw could be in for a very expensive legal battle if he is tried in court for the contents published in his book.
The book exposes Jacob Zuma’s further involvement in corruption and reveals that he is not tax compliant. The State Security Agency (SSA) on Thursday laid criminal charges against Pauw claiming certain contents of the book contravene the Intelligence Services Act.
According to the Hawks, no official charge has been laid, but they are investing a possible leak of information. Law professor James Grant told EWN this may be an intimidation tactic with high legal costs.
“I have no doubt whatsoever and in these circumstances, I expected good South Africans to stand up and assist anybody who’s being intimidated and bullied by the state.”
