THE VOICE OF MIGRANTS – GOAL R35 000
Millions of migrants around the world, especially in South Africa, and indeed the rest of Africa, are victims of human rights abuses, physical attacks, institutionalized xenophobia, police harassment, lack of protection, denial of basic rights and stereotyping. Even when their stories are told in the local media it is usually on the negative. There are good stories, and seldom find their way to the local print and broadcast media.
I seek to change that with a newspaper that will cater for the migrants – not only by exposing the abuse they go through, but also and protecting their rights, but also by highlighting the good work some of them do with running a successful business, creating work for locals, nurturing African oneness and social cohesion. We also want to highlight the good done by well-meaning South Africans in protecting migrants and working with them towards achieving a united Africa – and one world by including the stories of locals, migrants and asylum seekers from Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
Your contributions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanking you in advance for your generosity and support.
