Hi, my name is Davida, I have been diagnosed with Bipolar. I was admitted into Valkenberg hospital here in Observatory a while back ago. The state of that hospital is in crisis and really needs some more financial backup, better psychologists and a better understanding of those who suffer from bipolar. My experience there was traumatic and not healing in any way or form. I hope to one day open my own mental health clinic that incorporates all forms of healing for those who suffer from mental disorders or suicidal tendencies. In a nutshell, I’d like to help the mentally ill either by helping to fund their recovery or make their stay at a mental health clinic far more therapeutic than traumatic.
Many of those who are mentally ill are homeless. It is my goal to reach out to people like myself who have undergone severe stress. I would like to help those who are not able to seek counseling and help or medication. I believe this is just the beginning. Please help me reach out to those who suffer from mental illness, like myself. I am lucky to have one person who supports me. There are people out there who have no support or a leg to stand on. I’d like to help them find employment, stability, and well-being. It is not nice having no one to help. I do not see any NGO’s focusing on the mentally ill. It is a need that must be filled. Please help me help them.
