My name is Tshilidzi Anastasia Singo. I live in Limpopo, at Venda Shayandima. I am a disabled person who uses a wheelchair to move around. My problem started with my legs in 2010, at first I was treated by a specialist, and at a state hospital. My mom is not working and we rely on our disability grant, which is not enough, because when I get sick, I have to travel to hospital, and support myself and my mother who is also not in good health. She is unable to work because she is a diabetic and has hypertension.
Every day she has to carry me to bed from my wheelchair, and sometimes she can’t do that on her own, she has to ask someone or a neighbour, because she is too weak. I am in desperate need of assistance to get an electric wheelchair, and a bathroom hoist (device hoisting the individual from the wheelchair on to a toilet or into the bath and out again), as for this will considerably improve the quality of my life and will help me to be more independent.
